Share a Lived-Experience Perspective
Your experience may help someone feel less alone.
You do not need to share every detail for your story to matter.
We welcome thoughtful lived-experience essays that focus on what helped you understand, protect yourself, recover, reconnect, or move forward.
Please do not name employers, coworkers, workplaces, active legal matters, confidential processes, or details that could put you or another person at risk.
How we handle these essays
- Publish under a real name, first name only, pseudonym, or anonymous byline, decided together after editorial review.
- Do not include unverified allegations about identifiable people or organizations.
- Do not include information that could breach an agreement, policy, privacy obligation, or legal restriction.
- Do not present one story as proof that every situation is the same.
- We add an editorial note where it helps: “This is one person's experience. It is not legal, medical, or professional advice.”
- You'll get a post-publication review window, we won't publish your essay until you've seen the final version.
- If a piece was written during an immediate crisis, we'll take extra care and time before considering it, together with you.
