Our process
How we review resources
The Resource Finder is a starting point, not a recommendation. Here's how we choose what's listed and keep it current.
Step 1
We check the source
Every link points to an official or recognized body, a government agency, regulator, court tribunal, recognized professional association, or established non-profit. We don't list blogs, forums, or commercial services we haven't vetted.
Step 2
We confirm the purpose
Each entry is checked for what it actually offers: who it's for, what it can help with, and where it applies. We write a plain-language summary so you don't have to guess.
Step 3
We verify the link
We confirm the URL still works and still points to the resource described. Broken or redirected links are fixed or removed.
Step 4
We re-check on a schedule
Each resource carries a 'last reviewed' date. We re-review entries regularly and remove or update anything that's out of date. You can see the review date on every listing.
What a directory can and can't do
- We list resources we believe are reliable starting points, but inclusion isn't an endorsement of any specific outcome.
- Rules, eligibility, and waiting times vary and change. Always confirm directly with the organization before relying on a service.
- We can't assess whether your situation meets any legal threshold, that's advice only a qualified professional can give.
- If a listing is wrong or out of date, please tell us so we can fix it.
Found a problem with a resource?
Let us know and we'll re-review it. We'd rather remove a link than leave a broken one.
